>>But I'll be happy to start a research project on how much extra middle-incoming America has had to pay in the form of extra premiums and deductibles because of ACA.

Middle-Incoming Americans? You mean the Middle Class?

AFAICS they're more likely to be slapped by the Cadillac tax which I agree is an unintended consequence that incentivizes employers to increase co-pays or deductables.

Also, there are recent stats confirming that not enough young healthy middle class folk are enrolling, which leaves risk pools dominated by elderly and poor people. It's as if the only people signing up for flood insurance are people living in river beds. Even amateur underwriting predicts the result. Here's my hypothesis: the structure of the financial aid makes enrolling a push or even possibly a negative for people doing OK.

My experience of all these ACA predictions is that the more you know, the more you realize you don't know. AKA "empty vessels make the most sound."

I've got an easier research project for you: the biggest causes of US middle class bankruptcy before and after the ACA was introduced. Yeah, things were better in the good old days, right?
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
