>Thanks for playing Devil's Advocate so effectively ;-) but you know very well that decades-old copper wire probably can't be relied upon forever even for 3000Hz voice let alone data. ;-) I know there's newer Coax about, but if you're having to lay new lines, Fiber is hard to beat. Not that it matters to the point I was making about copper telephone circuits whose principles were established a century ago. ;-)

I do not use fruits somebdy else as taken a bite from. (IOW I only buy whole, fresh fruits)
For rotten fruits the house is equiped with a waste bin desgnated tor biological waste, https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biotonne.

It's hard to avoid WIFI
- the smartphones are cheaper to operate this way, and integrate as a wireless phone (that means a call you do by your cell phone will go by landline while within the home wifi, the system is oportunistic enough to determine if a number is cheaper by landline or via cellnet) Since the smartphone is with me anyway I do not need to maintain a second land line phone.
- several couch used laptops where it is a pain to run the wire

But for real work I prefer good old wire (and to connect the various WLAN base stations :( )
