This can't be coincidence. Our first daughter never drew manga, and she became an artist (not really a painter - a digital one, rather, used to work for EA and WB on games). The other two did, and became programmers :). They also had a cosplay phase - my wife had to pull some ingenious tricks to sew the costumes. The youngest, though, did finish two years of art college (with almost straight A's) but was bored and kind of pissed of at professors dragging her in opposite directions and never being quite satisfied with what she was doing, so she just taught herself javascript and within four months had a job. We only supplied her with JS Bible and other freebie literature and from time to time answered her questions.
