Beg your pardon I have mixed this up with summary.
Is this behaviour on any printer? Even on PDF?
If you create a report from scratch, just add up some fields to detail will it remain?
If it goes worst with FRX my solution is to remove items step by step until it works and check whats wrong with the special item I have removed. Mostly something strange is on this item.
Possibly you can move items out of details scope by just moving them to the header
