I can't help but think that in my conversion I've missed something.
You're not the only one to say that they've found an increase in performance. I'd be interested to know what type of applications you've found a performance increase with.
As for the app I'm converting, it is a POS application, that accepts transactions from terminals, and also runs any reporting and analysis that's necessary. I fully expected 6.0 to be much faster. The portions that are causing the problems in particular are the screens with both grids and text boxes pointing at the same record in the same table. As the user scrolls through the Grid, the text boxes are refreshed with new data (this way the text boxes can display the data in a more user friendly manner). The code behind the scrolling, is literally just a refresh of the text boxes, but Under 3.0 it takes about 1 second to refresh, and under 6.0 it is considerably slower.
