Rather than mess with top level forms, windows handles, etc., what we do is similar. We have an image object on the parent form that has visible=.f. Th picture property is a semitransparent graphic png. When we call a child form, we set the image to the size we want and make it visible. That gives the parent form a sort of lightbox jquery look, then we open the child form modal.
