That was set to zero at least ten years ago :).

It doesn't work. Word is probably not object oriented... The .displayAlerts is not a rule, i.e. not something set at some base class level, it's more in the way of english grammar - we don't have rules, we have lists. So it covers the list of dialogs which existed when that property was introduced, but it does not cover most of the other ones which were added later.
