All of a sudden I can't register a DLL using RegSvr32 in Windows 2008 Server environment.
The batch file registers 12 other DLLs. But the following 2 DLLs fail registration..
Here is the part of the batch file that registers this particular component. I use it for POSTING HTTP.
I know there are other components that can do that, but I rather not change all the code for this one customer.
RegSvr32 VisualSoftHTTP.dll
if errorlevel 1 echo - Error registering VisualSoftHTTP.dll
RegSvr32 VisualSoftHTTPx.dll
if errorlevel 1 echo - Error registering VisualSoftHTTPx.dll
I have tried starting the Command window in Admin Mode (pressing Ctrl-Alt-Enter when running CMD).
I have also tried uninstalling it first, using the /u parameter.
I have also Deactivated Symantec for 15 min while trying this. I have also added my App's entire folder in the Exemptions.
I have also made sure all Pending Windows updates were applied and rebooted.
My question is what could be causing this?.
The last time it worked was about 2 weeks ago. Same component getting registered with no problems.
What should my next move be?
- Do I have to reinstall the entire Server 2008 windows? (that'd be a monumental task being a Server with 16 Terminal Services Stations setup on it).
- Should I try one of these "Registry Mechanics" type utilities on the market to maybe "Repair the Registery"? Would that be a good idea?
Any idea or thought would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
