"Best" is the tricky part of your question...
Two different approaches:
a) MODIFY FILE filename.txt NOEDIT (IN WINDOW frmSomeWindow to give you additional control)
b) Put a ReadOnly EditBox in a form and set its value to FILETOSTR(filename.txt).
