I agree. Metheny has played with a few sax players and Potter is outstanding.
I will always love the Pat Metheny Group that had Lyle Mays - but Metheny's new (well, relatively new) Unity Band has produced some great music.
I'd say Metheny has become the closest we'll ever see to a current day Miles Davis. Absolute musical genius
