Look up the pictures (Or even wikipedia). The cat head and the bats looks very clear. I had the impression of déjà vu, asked the 14 year old (you saw the vid I lately placed?) and she was up to Coraline. She might be lousy in her russian and english but this stufff she remembers well.

The story itself is nice, Neil Gaiman is a good writer, but it's a bit early for Katy, Coraline is spooooky.
