They're not really giveaways - it's more like an investment. If the corporations were paying their fair share of taxes and the endless number of loopholes were closed and Wall Street was paying their fair share then we'd have a good start. Over the past 30 or so years there has been a huge redistribution of wealth in this country, so it's not like its not possible to do it. Shifting things back so that the middle class can still exist and the poor have a shot at not being poor needs to happen. We haven't had this type of disparity between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' since mmmm the great depression? And it's democratic socialism - which is different than socialism - something a lot of Americans' don't seem to grasp - although as you can see by the growing number of Sander's followers, people are learning.
