Victor, that was basically George Bush's view in 2002. Actual words from him, "we will use the mighty force of government" as he vowed to pressure financial institutions to make it easier for people to buy houses.

We all know how well that turned out. It was not the only reason for the huge recession in 2008, but it certainly was a big factor.
