btw isn't there some fund in the US for those kind of run away or not insured drivers causing an accident ?>
>You have to have that kind of (optional) coverage on your car or motorcycle insurance but it is very inexpensive. It is also illegal to drive in the states without basic insurance coverage.
Mopeds and scooters (at least here in Hawaii) don't even require insurance.
>I feel sorry for Victor. Weren't there any witnesses around to help the police find the hit and run driver?
It happened in Waikiki around 9pm at night - so there were probably 50 or more witnesses. When it happened though, everyone came running over to me as opposed to looking at the car that hit me. Can't blame the people for that of course - I would of done the same thing. The only thing the people recalled is that it was a "white car". Not much in the way of clues. When I was in the hospital I spent some time calling every auto-body-shop on the island asking if they had a white car with front end damage come in. Long story short - no luck.
