Just to prove my point, Skype has moved the "show chat while on video call" button again from bottom right to the 2nd left - the leftmost was the "show other chats" as usual. I think this is about 5th time this button has moved. And this time we had a first bot of sorts intervene in the chat, there were bits of conversation coming from daughter's skype, sometimes almost making sense. At the end of conversation she couldn't disconnect (we had to) and then couldn't even kill skype.
