I have a new application that need to have C++ 2008 run time installed. When I try, I get the error error 997.overlapped i/o operation is in progress and it fails. I googled the error and found this patch, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3000988. I ran the patch on my computer and it said that the patch was not applicable to my computer. I also found this page http://www.exactsoftware.com/docs/DocView.aspx?DocumentID=%7B15627baa-9dc6-4382-9ca6-45e748346d55%7D about KB2918614 but that patch was not installed.

Just wondering if anyone has see this before?
