The thing I'll always doubt about is coding the business logic in JavaScript running in the browser (Angular, ember, etc.); it's a strategic resource that no company wants to expose.

Whether FoxInCloud can be a first step in the evolution path you describe could be worth analyzing. Not sure the server logic architecture could fit.

You could investigate in this direction if you feel like it. We have no time or resource to allocate on such a project right now, sorry.

>Thierry, I believe you mis-understand. I know your solution is available and doable! But I want a real desktop program. And if you are interested take a second look. Electron is not some dumb thing you can use to get hello world to print on a screen. Anything you can do on the web can be and is being done with Electron. But much more important to me is the fact that NodeJS is used and can access all the resources that a desktop normally can have access too. Such as the file system, the USB ports, acting like a client server, access to the internet, using com objects, activeX, ASP stuff - you name it. Everything that a Foxpro program can do. BTW there are about a 1000 examples available on the web using Electron. The web frameworks like react, ember, Kkendo UI, Angular, and many more work with Electron.

>That said, what I was hoping for was a way to move the foxpro stuff over to Electron and slowly move away from fox. I was hoping that your tools just might a way to get to that intermediate state and be a desktop program using some sort of backend.

>BTW my need of cross platform is important which is way I moved to python. So the fact that Electron is cross platform and is still a desktop program is very important to me.
