And the rich usually do all they can to avoid paying even that 45%.

For instance Philip Green runs his businesses in the UK but his wife lives in Monaco. Assets are held in her name so she was able to be paid £1.2 billion dividend tax free.

At the same time his BHS business has gone bust with a £500 million hole in its pension fund which will have to be supported by the PPF (Pension Protection Fund) out of public funds. Unrestricted capitalism at its worst.
