>>That's what I did when I was working my way through college back when I was young and gorgeous :)
Which was one of the anecdotes that had me musing. ;-) How would it have been for you had everybody been paid a wage with less opportunity to earn tips? Would punters have liked prices hiked 21% in lieu of tips? Both are being tried out by restaurants and bars trying to fund a minimum wage expectation.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us."
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
