Somehow yesterday when I was using VS the problem resolved itself. But in the future I will look for the key binding. And I do have VS 2015 installed; so maybe I will move my projects there.

>Probably a bad key binding in Visual Studio. You can search for Ctrl-C in your Key bindings and make sure that it's still point at the paste text functionality. If that doesn't work you can reset your key bindings to default.
