I think others have pointed you to some valuable books on that matter.

A MS example means not much. This one would not work on any form of mine at first glance.

Do you have the right work area active infront of SET ORDER? Have you checked SET("Order") afterwards? Just suspend the form and try it or use SET to get the appropriate form and check there.

Your method gridorder is a method of what? Your grid class, your header class ...
