I've said here and elsewhere that the pre-Obamacare system would have collapsed under the weight of its special interest groups and profiteers within a decade. The only special interest groups that belong naturally in healthcare are the doctors, nurses, other caregivers, porters and other support staff, and whatever admin staff those groups call on to organize and assist their services to patients. The smartest trick would be to try to return the healthcare professions to vocations rather than clock watchers or entrepreneurs trying to keep up with the Jones, surrounded by jackals.
