Hi Gang!

Would a simple server written in Visual FoxPro be better written as an Asynchronous Server or a Synchronous Server?

I am using Socketools by Catalyst.

Here are the specs I am following..... I have to write the interface between the TT40 system and the POS system.... the POS system is ours and the TT40 is a Vendors.

"The interface between the TT40 and the POS system is a SINGLE SOCKET ONE-WAY COMMUNICATION. TT40 will establish a persistent socket connection and initiate ALL communications. TT40 sends various data to the POS system. It also QUERIES the POS to return Sales data. The POS should only SYNCHRONOUSLY respond to these messages. If there any communication errors, TT40 will drop the connection and attempt to reconnect."

I've already written an Asynchronous Server that reads and writes to a test client that is written an a Synchronous client. Would my Server be ok under these conditions, or am I to write a Synchronous server to handle this somehow ?

Thanks!
