Since you mentioned that you have reinstalled VFP from scratch and the problem persists, in such situations I always pass through the advice Sergey once gave me when my VFP kept blocking by a strange behavior, even after a clean reinstall: delete all of your FOXUSER.* files (probably, in your local application data folders).
