If you suspect of .vcx corruption, you can fox2bin it back and forth and check if the problem persists.

Since you mentioned that there is a chain of header files, keep in mind that such chains can go only up to 4 levels deep - VFP won't warn you if this limit is surpassed and won't honor whatever definitions or directives the deeper .h files main contain.
