Well, You and me both!!! I've never been afraid of flying either, in fact I tried to be a pilot after high-school, I passed all tests except vision, which I technically also passed but I was warned that my vision would deteriorate to the point I would not be able to fly so I switched to aeronautical engineering instead. Anyways, around 2004/5 I was returning from Argentina and less than an hour into the flight from Buenos Aires to Toronto I've acquired claustrophobia too!!, I felt so bad that I finished the trip (8 hours!) standing on the back of the plane, only sat down for the food and (luckily for me) the few rough spots where they turned the seat belts on light, but I still had the flight from Toronto to Vancouver, another ~5 hours of absolutely torture!

Now things are even worse, sometimes I feel claustrophobic in my own bedroom, even house... I still keep flying, but 1st I only buy aisle seats and I keep some sleeping aid pills, next time I'll ask for the wing!!
