One of the things I provide in the app I'm working on is the ability to print an envelope (with an optional return address). The problem is that there are so many different envelopes, and they feed through printers in differetn ways that it is difficult to predefine the positions of the return address and the address.

What I thought I would do is have one generic envelope form, and give the user the ability to modify the position of the address fields. In other words, give him something like MODIFY REPORT, but with only the ability to move the return address and main address "boxes". Or I can just let him enter the top left corner position of each. Either way requires him to experiment a bit. I'd let him define a few envelope types, and specify which to use when he prints.

Does this sound like a reasonable idea? Anyone done anything similar?

And, does anyone know how the report tables handle grouped fields? I know how to change the positions of the individual fields. But how does the MODI REPORT guy know what fields are grouped, so that when you move the group, it changes the position of ALL the fields.
