open firefox
type url about:config
type in search box: browser.urlbar.trimURLs
dblclick on true--->false
its all
try to see any http:// url (http;// is displayed)
if above true.....http:// is hidden

can read:
http://www.ghacks.net/2011/09/28/firefox-add-http-back-to-address-bar/
