He got it prescribed first by a local doctor in Japan, when he was in very bad shape and had run out of meds he took from home. And this guy just shook his head at the list of stuff he was taking, and gave im just lasix and another simple drug (aspirin or something)... and he got better.
As I said, it's a rather long story (with episodes before and after) which I don't feel free to discuss.
