What I've been following along about it indicates it's not really ready for prime time. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Also, if you use third party .NET libraries, they need to migrate to Core too.
And if you're learning MVC, there is a lot more information and support for it out there than Core. IMO, faster to get up to speed.
