My mom was 29 my entire childhood until Jack Benny, the eternally 39-year-old, died. Then she was 39 for the rest of her life, which is, no doubt, why she was so stunned when my brother turned 50.

LOL!!! I have always wondered why women lie about their ages. Worst case scenario: let's assume that you actually look your age (unless you have had a lot of plastic surgery). So you tell people that you are actually 10 years younger than you really are. These people are probably thinking "Oh, you poor woman. You must have had a really rough life because you sure have a lot of mileage on you."

I like to tell people that I am 5 years older than I really am. Then they are really impressed ;)
