Then you move to .NET and SQL Server :)
Maybe yes and maybe no. My one small VFP client that still calls me for new functionality was told by this big company that she needs to move to a server environment and rewrite the app in SQL Server and .NET. This is BS. She is a mom and pop shop and her app does not have the data volumes or security requirements to warrant this kind of expense. The app is structured so that she can share the data using a peer-to-peer network and it works without any problems.
Interestingly, when she told this schmuck to contact me, he never did. I suspect that it is because he knew that I would immediately see that he was just trying to line his own pockets at the expense of my client.
I am not saying that this is true in all cases. It is a question of what will it cost and what are the benefits.
