In the early 1990's I developed a patient assessment and voucher application using Borland C. CodeBase library, and Fox tables/indexes - it was in use in nearly all of the 260+ WIC clinics in Georgia.

I got awards from USDA and had complete freedom to do my job however I wanted it. Also was treated to a bunch of steak dinners in Atlanta.

I had way too much success at way too early an age, :)

As much as I get excited about what Microsoft is doing with SQL Server - those first few years were unbelievable for me.
