We shifted our physical servers to VMware environment a few years back. A windows 2008 R2 server in VMware (24 GB RAM / Intel xeon 4 Processors) host our vfp data.

I tested my vfp app as following

1) When I copied my vfp app on the same vfp data server and run the application, program performance was good.

2) When I run vfp app from my desktop, the data access from server was slow. I split a slow query into two queries and the performance was good.

In my opinion, app performance was much better in a physical server setup than in VMware setup.

I would like to know any tips/configurations for setting up vfp applications in VMware.
