Hello Sergey and others, here is the answer to the problem I had installing Windows 10..

1. In order to get rid of the message: "Disk space: This PC is joined to a domain. Contact your system administrator"
Temporarily joined a workgroup for the upgrade

2: Regarding the message: "Display: The display is not compatible with Windows 10. Check the manufacturer for support."
LogMeIn had installed a video driver to speed up the display of remote windows. Uninstalled it to install windows 10. Haven't reinstalled yet.

Java is a very logical choice of development language for you, Sergey. I know it has issues too, but I am sure you have overcome them.

I wish you the best. Glad you keep coming here.

Alex

>>I do like Windows 7 a lot, but will probably end up moving to Windows 10 anyway if MS allows me to do it for free. Now it feels like a challenge. Also the idea of being able to learn something about Ubuntu Linux without abandoning Windows is appealing.
