I think that's a simplistic evaluation. I've seen apps (both desktop and browser) and I've had to do apps that use grid-style data entry. Often it's because the app came from an Excel environment, where users took grid-style entry for granted.

In some cases, users will see the "pop up modal form...save...go back to grid" as a big step backwards and will complain...loudly.

Admittedly, I don't know the specific answer to John's question - this is something I'm guessing one of the resident Fox stalwarts might have encountered before.
