I can see the new record pop into the grid, as it has a checkbox in one column, but no matter what I do, the cell/row will not 'get focus'. Any help will be most appreciated!

John,

I am with numerous others, grids are no good to append and edit data. People tend to believe vfp grids are same like Excel sheets, but nothing like that at all.

Now if you do want to make use of a grid and also would like to append / edit the data, the very best solution is to construct a grid with above (Excel like) or underneath textboxes which the enduser can use to edit/append data.

There are several examples how to do this in the vfp solution samples but if you are still uncomfortable than I would suggest to upload here your cursor/table rowsource for your grid and I could produce a working example for you.

Regards,
Koen
