>> but that doesn't make him the best possible president among those who ran.

>More semantics.
>I have lunch periodically with some people who think that FDR was a traitor and GW Bush was the best ever.

Just because someone has that view doesn't make it a fact. History tells us which presidents were good and which ones were bad based on the results of their actions. It's probably too early to tell about Obama as the history on that hasn't been established yet.

>I can't mention Obama for fear that they'll gag on their pasta fagolia.
>So the best possible president is whoever the person speaking thinks.
>I hate to say this in public, but I think that Trump would be better for the country than the crooked liar.

That is just insane. If it's a crooked liar you fear, then please note that Trump is a crooked pathological liar.

>Her most significant accomplishments were marrying a serial philanderer and stealing the White House china.

I think some of the things she did as first lady, secretary of state, and a senator might be considered accomplishments. Check wikipedia or something for the long lists.

>Trump has had his failures, but he has shown that he knows how to lead and get things done.

No - he's left a string a bankrupted companies and is nothing more than a con-man. Trump University is good example. This guy is nothing other than 1%er who inherited a fortune from his father and cares about no one but himself. If he had invested the money he got in typical stocks he would of ended up with more money than he has now. He is a guy with TV production experience and knows how to get ratings. That doesn't mean he can actually get anything done..

>If you think what he says is outlandish, come to lunch with my pals sometime.
>They'd make him blush.
>That's the real world.

Riiiight - but your friends are not responsible for the well being of the citizens of the United States and don't have to deal with other nations and leaders. Your friends can tweet stupid little racist tweets and not cause an international incident. Cute and funny? Trumps antics may seem this way now (although I don't think its funny anymore), but if he becomes president, these dumbass little tweets and comments he makes will have a real impact. I can not stress enough that he is not qualified nor have the temperament for the job. Just yesterday he was singing praises about Saddam Hussein and routinely says the Putin is a good leader, and has said the same about North Korea's leader - ya know - evil dictators. Said that Japan should have nukes (guess he was unaware that they don't want them and even has laws preventing it). He has no clue how government even works and thought that presidents name their cabinet members during the election until a reporter corrected him on that just a few days ago. NOT QUALIFIED.
