I did/do not doubt that. The "shake up" was meant not to weaken, but more as a wake up call (if he did not know of the coup attempt in advance).
In the last time it was often reported that Erdogan went after people he saw as rivals/enemies via judicial system and was less interested in furthering issues - although the recurring streak of pushing back laizism in favor of religious tasting policies is hard for us to fathom and understand.
