Because when you manage your own account, you have much more options than when viewing someone else profile.

On the left side, your have a full panel for "Your profile". In there, you have General settings, Forums, Filters, Online users, etc. One of them if Your posts, which summarizes pretty much all your contribution to the site, including by the same your messages and solutions.
