I found it... Very strange!! I noticed that another app running In Windows was popping up system dialogs every few minutes, and it (either the app or Windows itself) was adjusting the position of the dialogs so they would not stack on top of each other (so you would see all of them, fanned out like a deck of cards.).

So, this was affecting FoxPro as well.

I shut down that app and closed all those dialogs and then the MessageBox started working correctly in VFP.

Is shows that VFP was indeed deferring that window position to the OS.
