VFP would be a disadvantage if you ever want to add browser based user interfaces, web services or windows services.
Using .NET you have the choice of writing UI in winforms, WPF or ASP.NET.

I personally would definitely stay away from VFP tables, if you use VFP or .NET, for me the best choice is now using MSSQL.
