>>LOL, I guess you have never tried to compile validation rules out of meta data ?

Yep, that's one of the distinguishing elements. NET used to be (sort of) capable via reflection but then you couldn't obfuscate and it was pretty awkward. Have not looked for a while and don't need to since the Fox version has been debugged for over 20 years and works flawlessly with zero, nada exciting changes, breakages and deprecations. And now that VFP Compiler extends compatibility to the latest C++ V14 and even 64-bit that had been called impossible, 20-year-old VFP sourcecode is likely to maintain Windows compatibility longer than something written yesterday in Visual Flavor du Jour.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
-- Shakespeare: Coriolanus, Act 1, scene 1
