First, congrats on moving - I love Postgresql!

I have done only two migrations. I was not able to find a way to convert SP's to functions using some tool. That said, there was a tool that claimed to convert MS SP's to Oracle functions but it's cost was above $5,000 at the time (the last migration was about 4 years ago). I haven't checked lately but I doubt anyone has a good conversion tool for SP's. So in the end it was a real PAIN! That said, I can say I have never regretted doing it. Postgres has been such a pleasure to work with and the fact it follows SQL standard completely (in fact to a fault) makes life easier.

I have found that Postgesql runs best on Linux - but it runs on other platforms too.
