>Even before the release of VFP 6, we did looked some and in fact we bought 3 different frameworks only to return the two and other one is on our cabinet, one could not satisfy our needs and so we might as well do our own and we did. To our fellow VFPers, 3rd party frameworks are good enough but unfortunately it did not satisfy our needs. Our needs can only be satisfied if we are going to buy not one but 3 above, and so if we are going to do that, we will come up with a framework entitled "VMCMVFECDMORTALS."

I agree, there is no ONE framework that is going to do everything you want and have everything you want...

However, you have to admit... ALOT of what they frameworks you looked at had a common denominator of functions that you HAD to have...

So, for me... it seems to make sense to get that one that does ALOT of what I need, so I don't have to write it myself.

As was said... what you get with these frameworks is ALOT of TESTED code, and methods of doing things...

As someones tagline here said... The more I learn about programming, the less code I write.

Well, that is true because you learn to leverage what you CAN, and discard what you don't need.

Are you telling me you never bought a magazine for ONE article.

Never ordered something in a resturant and didn't eat the part you didn't like.

Never ordered a burger and asked for extra pickels and no mustard?

Yes, in a perfect world, we would have the time, and resources, and talent to build our framework, and all the classes exactally as we need them. We would also have incredibly accurate specs, well documented code, etc... but, this isn't a perfect world!

Something Jim Booth likes to say... "Released" is a VERY important feature!

Anyway.. don't mane to argue with you here, just perhaps to give some people that may be following this thread another angle to look at even though I DO agree with you that NO framework, classlib, or tool you going to buy is going to be exactally what you need, and work exactally the way you want...

After all, this is LIFE!
