GUI is the most repulsive aspect of VFP when pushed to the extremes (eg displaying variable images.png with transparencies in grid columns)
No doubt that .Net does by far a better job on that
Making a nice GUI on a Web apps may be much easier as you can hire a graphic designer to work just on a CSS file, without any impact on the rest of the app (viva la separation of converns).
We usually setup a (secured) ftp access to the Test App Folder where the CSS reside, and our designer just works live on it, with a broken F5 key at the end of the day.
As FiC generates classes based on the VFP class hierarchy, he only needs to understand this hierarchy and write directives.
