"Branding" is something I suspect as well - especially if the worth of some of his buildings is closer to the values one argues with the IRS and possibly settled with debt not directly tied to the property (according to an article here one of his tactics to be able to boast more about his worth).
Still not sure if he might be ***mostly*** bogus - which I would define as something below 500 million net worth if compared to his usual statements and the possibly quite heavy leverage introduced by hefty debt % of his hildings and shifting prices.

Why on earth would he do all that if he is really 2 digits of billions net worth ?
