It's not a surprise to anybody nowadays that some women can make great mechanics and some men can make great florists.
The old sexist model of women's work and men's work was kinda stupid to ignore talent and unfair to those whose talents were ignored.

Nonetheless, the numbers of women interested in that sort of work are far fewer than the numbers of men.

Quotas in the name of "diversity" make me gag.

Racial and gender quotas implicitly assume that the portion of people in each group interested in a particular job at least roughly mirror their portion of the general population.
If you force equal outcomes between groups, you are being grossly unfair to some individuals.
