Bill, I'll grant that Tamar is correct in one sense - there's been a much-needed culture change. As recently as the early 1970's, some women were denied pay raises on grounds that, "your husband already makes a good salary", "you'll just spend it on makeup and curlers", etc. I'm an "EDS/IBM brat" because my father worked for both companies. One of the benefits of a great memory is that I can remember as early as age five some really sexist and bigoted remarks from some of my father's friends (who were managers and up).

However, there have been some elements that have been far less about equality and more about political power and spreading misinformation. Exhibit A, Sandra Fluke and that ridiculous speech she gave 4 years ago that has been slammed by women as well as men.

Regarding the stats you mentioned (single parent birth rates, abortion rates), I don't disagree, though there are other factors that have contributed to that.
