First, good to see you last night.
Second....the sad reality is that even the "less unpopular wars" will lead to large loss of innocent lives. Take the bombing of Hiroshoma and Nagasaki. Granted, the U.S. did not start that war, but technically the U.S. had not been attacked (since Hawaii wasn't yet a state).
I think one can debate the original start of the Iraq war, since Hussein was responsible for the deaths of anywhere from 70K to 100K Kurds in NW Iraq. But we can all agree that the manner in which the war was fought represented one of the biggest mistakes in U.S. history.
